A common approach to search engine submissions is “more
submissions equals better visibility.” Some companies offer submissions to a million or more destinations.
Most of these destinations are FFA
(free-for-all) pages. The idea of these “link farms” is that if
search engines find your site mentioned in thousands of places, it must be important.
Very few FFA pages are of significant value.
The world’s largest search engine, Google, advises against using any type of trick to attempt to improve
rankings (view
Google’s webmaster guidelines). |
